Electric car
Problem
Electric car have many problems in long trip
This issue came from my relative, who owns an electric car. One day, he didn’t drive his electric car when he came to visit us. When we asked him what happened, he explained that charging and route planning for long-distance trips are challenging with electric cars.
Goal
Help electric car users to travel long distances and manage charging more easily
After identifying the problem, I needed to define the target for this project. I interviewed three people about their experiences with long-distance travel and daily use of electric cars. Based on their feedback, I determined that the project’s focus should be on helping electric car users manage long-distance travel and charging more easily.
It is difficult for users to plan routes during long trips
To identify key pain points for this project, I conducted five interviews. I found that users often find it troublesome to plan routes during holidays. Many also experience anxiety about their battery levels, unsure if they will make it to their destination. Additionally, users were unfamiliar with how to use charging stations, and there was a lack of clear instructions on how to navigate them.

Target user
People who own electric cars and have long-distance travel needs
Through these surveys, I determined my target users: people who own electric cars and have long-distance travel needs.

Wireframe
Based on these findings, I developed an app designed to be mounted on the screen of an electric car. The app includes three main functions:
AI-powered route planning.
Detailed information about nearby charging stations.
AI-driven battery analysis and automatic charging planning.

User test
Optimization of navigation bar and AI functions
I asked three participants to test my prototype to observe how they interacted with the app's features.
I found that the navigation bar wasn’t prominent enough, and users were confused by the car image on the interface. Additionally, users preferred selecting options directly rather than typing in AI features.
Based on this feedback, I revised these issues and designed new interfaces to improve clarity and usability.

Next step
Function page improving
Based on user feedback, my next plan is to
1. Design an AI timed charging page.
2. Deepen the best AI route planning method
Conclusion
Respond to user answers
Through user research, I discovered that effective interaction with users is crucial. It’s important to create a relaxed environment where users feel comfortable answering questions, and to provide responses after they answer. This approach helps gather more valuable insights, as users are more willing to share their thoughts and ideas.
